The design of the cooling system directs the airflow in and out to minimize aerodynamic noise and improve acoustic efficiency. The adjustable extraction system allows the flow rate to be adjusted, significantly reducing noise levels. Each unit is calibrated at the factory through acoustic testing, verifying the sound configuration chosen for the rated power and actual load conditions, ensuring stable performance and a controlled sound environment.

The SCR system installed in the HGY Series allows real-time monitoring of parameters such as temperature, pressure, and NOx concentration. This connectivity ensures comprehensive process control, reduces the risk of incidents, and extends the service life of components. Thanks to this approach, NOx emissions are kept below 190 mg/Nm³, which is the European standard for medium combustion power plants, positioning the HGY Series in its container version as one of the best sustainable Power Solutions in Europe.
The combination of SCR with the possibility of consuming 100% pure HVO makes the HGY Advanced Compact Version Series a benchmark model: not only does it meet the most stringent sustainability standards, it also benefits from exceptional power density, reaching up to 37.9 kWm/L, which means lower environmental impact, greater efficiency in the use of resources and a significant reduction in life cycle costs.
Robustness with high operability | Engineering designed for uninterrupted operation
Integrating the entire system into 40 feet offers a compact engineering solution for the customer: shorter electrical layouts and reduced losses, with CSC Safety Approval for intermodal logistics without adjustments.
This concentration of capabilities in a single module sets the container version of the HGY Series apart for its functional density and integration quality, putting more power and control in less space and accelerating the project's entry into operation.
In projects where power continuity is critical, the 40' ISO High Cube structure provides mechanical and logistical integrity, facilitating environmental compliance in demanding environments such as Data Centers or Hospitals. Automatic oil filling, pre-lubrication, automatic priming and heating guarantee and accelerate each start-up, while protecting the internal mechanics of the engine and extending the service life of its components.
The container is designed to keep the supply operational during scheduled work, avoiding service interruptions, and ensuring continuity of power in demanding environments. When it comes to safety, every detail counts: weather-resistant stainless steel/galvanised fittings; inspection window to the panel for reading measurements and alarms without having to access the interior; openings, registers and sensitive levels to facilitate inspection and service work; LED service lighting; panic button; interlocked switch on the door; and certified lifeline on the roof for working at height. This set of safety features standardises procedures for all maintenance and commissioning work.
The robustness of the container version of the HGY Series results in excellent, uninterrupted operation, laying out the foundations for achieving the highest level of efficiency.
Efficiency and Adaptability to the environment
The HGY Series Advanced Compact Version is designed to deliver higher performance and excellent stability: electrical quality in accordance with class G3 (ISO 8528-5), consistent starts and clean integration with existing switchgear, reducing risks and commissioning times. Its design prioritizes efficiency, with reduced consumption and dynamic adaptability between engine operation and cooling management to maintain performance in all conditions. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) integrates intuitive diagnostic software and remote monitoring, facilitating comprehensive management, and increasing the operational availability of the unit. Sensor-based monitoring of the filtration and level systems reduces the number of incidents and provides traceability for each maintenance action.
The Yanmar GY engine is developed to offer quality, durability, and high performance in the most demanding conditions. These engines integrate common-rail injection systems, as well as an advanced piston head design and comprehensive fluid analysis, which optimize combustion and improve efficiency.
In terms of efficiency and consumption, the GY engine is best-in-class, setting the benchmark in the market for its low fuel consumption levels, which have a direct impact on reducing OPEX and CO2 emissions in any project.
High performance in extreme temperatures
At the heart of every genset there lies an internal combustion engine, converting fuel into energy. The GY series is a new family of 12, 16 and 20 cylinder engines managed by state-of-the-art electronic control, and with a common rail injection system. It combines the unique combustion technology for high-speed engines with the reliability of medium-speed engines, ensuring high performance and efficiency, supporting operations in extreme conditions, compact footprint, multiple fuel capabilities and low emissions.
The GY engine series is a perfect example of Quality, Efficiency, Reliability and Durability.
Operational ease | Guaranteed availability
The auxiliary equipment is designed for continuity and ease of operation: automatic oil refilling, double-walled tank, pre-lubrication and fuel priming with electric pump. The heating system and pre-lubrication prepare the engine for start-up. Intelligent consumables management is added with level, temperature and pressure readings to anticipate interventions; the double wall of the tank incorporates leak and sealing sensors between the tank walls.
To reinforce and guarantee availability, the architecture can include N+1 pump redundancy, bypass valves, and partial hot maintenance. The result is predictable and traceable operation, with condition records that facilitate maintenance planning without affecting system performance.
Plug & Play | Immediate
One of the great advantages of the HGY Advanced Compact Version Series is its easy installation and commissioning by technicians thanks to the Plug & Play system. The commissioning procedure does not require specific training, which speeds up installation. It integrates a copper busbar and internal connectors for the SCR system, which allows the installation to be activated very easily and significantly facilitates wiring and technical service tasks. The motor sensors are integrated into the panel by means of labelled and point-to-point tested harnesses, quick fuel connectors with fittings, and a 3-way valve system for fuel purging in a single movement. This 360º approach to accessibility and maintenance ensures that the HGY Series operates with maximum efficiency and reliability.
Connectivity | Advanced monitoring
Connectivity is total for the end customer of each project. Management can be local or remote, as the modules can be synchronized with other generator sets, and the communications modules allow remote control, integration with other generators sets, and GPS tracking. The system integrates communications redundancy and industrial protocols, with API for DCIM/SCADA and centralized alarm and maintenance management. This connectivity consolidates an intelligent and redundant monitoring model, essential in critical infrastructures where reliability is a non-negotiable factor.
As HIMOINSA is a vertical manufacturer, the HGY Series can include the HIMOINSA control center, developed to offer increasingly intelligent and connected solutions for generator set management. This control center can interconnect generators and enabling their remote management, perfectly integrated with the ECU, adaptable to plant management systems, and enabling local and remote control, synchronization with other generators and advanced monitoring.
Easy maintenance
Maintenance is straightforward with access to filters and priming; oil extraction is via an electric pump with a three-way valve; the grilles are removable for cleaning the radiator, and the coolant filler is accessible with visible levels. The panel integrates AVR inside and auxiliary sockets. It has a protective roof. In addition, all engine filters are located on one side to make it easier for the maintenance technician to replace them in special applications with limited access.
Another major advantage is the extended maintenance intervals: up to 500 hours for oil and oil filter changes; up to 10,000 hours for top overhaul changes in COP applications; and up to 30,000 hours for major overhauls in COP applications.
CONCLUSION
The HGY Series consolidates HIMOINSA's commitment to stable energy that is easy to integrate into mission-critical applications: generator sets prepared and designed to operate in environments with the most demanding acoustic and environmental requirements.
